Guys never use Godaddy, please tale my advice, they are horrible, when businesses grow become aggressive, they cancel my dedicated server the same day they sent a notification , the reason of cancelation they claimed that my server exceed the bandwith quota.
I couldn't believe it, I ask them to pay whatever they have, but the answer is you traffic is high and you should upgrade your bandwith.

I spent 2 hours with them to find a solution for this problem but they claimed that I have to setup a new server. I told them I need my data because I don't have a backup, they answer that they don't keep a backup for dedicated server. now i lost everything because of their stupidity, no Data, no users, I had 6000 users in my server, all are gone. image the situation I'm in now.

Godaddy is the worst company.

GoDaddy customer service is really bad.Not only they could
not provide service they promised, but they refused to refund money for not provided service. Stay away from that company.

Quite Simply Go Daddy is only Good for One Thing.
Domains. i Suggest going somewhere else but go daddy when it comes to hosting. Basicially Store Stuff (that all they do on the hosting). Thats It. If you want any service other than a friendly Hello because for the most part Godaddy is Nice. But they are like Stewardesses. They look (the site) and Talk nice but they have absolutely no control of the plane.

Yup Stewardesses. Thats a Good...way to put it.

Goddady Sucks. *REALLY* Sucks. Two days ago I had trouble conecting to my mail account. Looked up what was happening and discvered that my domain nameservers info was changed???

Connected to the GoDaddy "Domain Manager" thing to correct the NS records I though were mistakely modified. I then realized this domain was no longer listed in the domains I owned.

I then did a WHOIS search, and saw it registered to a Romanian guy!!!! Record indicated it was changed on that same day. I then called the helpdesk. They did put me on hold for more than 30 minutes in total, talked to a whole bunch of people. After lots of investigation on their side, the guys told me "I" had tranferred the domain to another GoDaddy account about 7 months ago and that NS records were indeed updated.

The told me they couldn't do anything about this "stolen" domain as the "transfer" occured so long ago. It is not their responsibility anyway they say. All you can do sir is file a domain name dispute with NAF or WIPO - With costs of about 1300 - 2600 USD. It's a bit expensive for a privately owned domain. Though it has sentimental value as I regitered it in '97.

I've been discussing with my lawyer and will anyway file a complaint towards GoDaddy. But I seriously doubt I'll get my domain back.

Well, now i have found antoher stuff that godaddy messed. In i had spend 200 € on godaddy for nothing..
Directory rights. first thing i want to tell is that i haven't understood med. trust well. First i asked go daddy to give me folder permissions rights, so i can write log files to some folders. They responded, that i need to write apps in medium trust. So, i tought, well, i don't understand something, it is my own fault.
yesterday, i wanned to install one cms, and just now i had found, that i was doing things well, and that BLOODY godaddy, took me 200 euros, for nothing, made me much problems with customers, and lot of stuff........

So, godaddy employees, how can u tell that plesk is garbage? I think, only one who is garbage here is godaddy. I will stil try to search original email to put it as proof.

this is main problem. They got directory management, in control panel. This directory mangmnt. resolves access rights for anonymous users and not for network service account. This means, after i uploaded files and folders, they don't have seucrity permissions on it. Godaddy is the only one who can set this permissions. Front page extensions (from MS: When Visual Web Developer creates the Web site on the remote server, it sets permissions that allow you to create and edit pages and components in the Web site based on your FrontPage Server Extensions administration or author permissions. However, Visual Web Developer cannot set certain permissions on folders that might be required by ASP.NET at run time.) no..

Now, lets look: i brought 2 customers to godaddy. They had spent around 400 € on godaddy. They where mad at me, and accused me, that it is my fault. Bloddy godaddy, even disinformed me, i lost 1 week on trying to figure it out, how to set folder permissions in medium trust.

Now.. who is responsible me? Or go daddy?
People i lost 400 euros! I lost 2 weeks waiting for bloody emails and their stupid answers.. This is far for being satisfied customer. Godaddy is on the other hand billing everything. Well eM is totaly right!

well, i got some serious isses with medium trust..
Well. if we look at problems u have with godaddy and problems u have with some other hosting who is not using bloddy medium trust.. huh.. huge difference.. I really don't know.. how we developers should learn all this..no much info from great microsoft and total, how to call it non-support from hosting providers (godaddy).
First issue - directory permission - in godaddy u cann't control users, plesk ctnrl. pnl. is far far far far better for people who know what to do, and what they want to do. Microsoft had recommend for hosting provider to use medium trust, but this works only if u are using software writen for medium trust and this means that 50% of web soft will not work! so, for anything serious - this recomendation is not so good - well, if u plan to use usuall starter kits and stuff, they will work.
So, there is no way to control windows permissions in control pannel (is this important issue??!?!??). This is primary issue to do anything.

Before, i don't know how is it now, i had issue with db manager, with running sql scripts. well it doesn't work well with international chars (solution - simple uTF8).

FTP is really slow. Today, i had been uploading 8MB on my ADSL 256 upload link.. it took 1 hour!?!).

FAQ godaddy has are totaly, poor for anything serious regarding custom asp.net apps. Only usable for simpliest problems and for commercial apps.

Now lets compare with mine current hosting, http://www.inside.hr

First, they don't use bloddy medium trust. Second, they got plesk ctrl. panel. They are cheaper. They got far better customer support. OK.. i will not go fruther on this questions..

U can set folders however u like - but using windows permisions (network service etc.)!

They got clear FAQ with directions for every issue.
U can even run scheduled task from ctrl. pannel which is very valuable for backend jobs.

Once i had error in store proc. Godaddy was twice slower!

With inside u can connect to sql server directly from SQL enterprise manager!

All this are real facts. Well, i don't want to say that godaddy is totaly.. bad, but i had lot of problems, and i must say, they got tutorial for all unneccesary stuff and nothing for things that are really important. If they would had better support with complete examples (cause nobody can know.. how did they setup configuration), it would be much easier..

conclusion: i will never use godaddy again, because i got hosting provider, with similar price, far far better control panel, far far far far less troubles (i had never called them for any issue regarding configuration), and overall exp. is far far far far *20 better with inside hosting.

I am not so against godaddy because they are big, and it is hard to handle all this calls, and all problems, but, as they are so big, they can have 20 times better control panel, and 100 times better tutorials for sure.

As written above by a few, I am leaving more proof of unprofessionalism in the GoDaddy Company, first of all I really do not call anyone working or associated with GoDaddy who swears at a person while they are leaving their piece of mind on another blog professional! That alone should tell anyone not to deal with GoDaddy.com.
How someone answers the phone or an email tells me right away if a business is professional or not, and yes most are nice when selling a product, but once they get your business customer service is out the door.

Secondly, Bob Parsons is a numbers guy, like all the other business mongrels, except he makes it obvious, by bragging about it and writing a blog? What gives, why don't you answer the emails like you did in the beginning to your customers, about their problems.

Thirdly, about helping customers with third party scripting, nine times out of ten it is not our third party scirpting but your scripting, and when I called out someone on your staff about it, and they were wrong they fixed it, but never did I receive an apology, or was I compensated for the time we were down. So, there you go I take sides with the guy who first made a statement about your scripting.

Our comment to why is Bob is complaining about kiters stealing in his latest Blog???

This is what I wrote To GoDaddy's Blog, but I know it will never be posted on it, as I have tried three times, he only wants praises. When it comes to bad news Bob is out of town. I call it attention seeking when someone has to play on a blog instead of running their company.

They gave us a big song and dance about how kiters steal our names while we are searching ...... well it is on their site right that we are searching??? I know it was an inside job, and as far as proving it, I do not have to, because everyone already knows.

That is because, first Go Daddy's Staff steal's your ideas outside of your emails accounts that you send to your clients, or from inside your web hosting accounts, then sell it to Bob like it is their idea ... what gives Bob, we are not stealing we bring business to you and then you steal our customers, ideas etc ... do you dare to leave the truth here for a change or will you ignore this also, just remember someone exposed many other companies for back dooring their customers info via emails and then got caught. Many Web Developers bring business to you and now you steal their biz by selling Logo's, website design, while undercutting their prices, what gives ??? I would rather be with a company that doesn't know shit about what they are doing than a company that steals from me after I bring so much business their way???
Do you truly have the balls to leave this here or are you truly just all that .... all talk !!! And take take take - like when the are you going to get a 1 800 number for your customers instead of always highway robbing them by creating problems that take days to fix???

Text Book Techie is an understatement in your company, and if you don't start fixing the real issues soon, you will lose many customers, no matter how cheap a product is, even WalMart learnt that lesson.

MODERATION PENDING .... LOL ... GUESS I WILL POST THIS IN WEB DEVELOPER FORUMS ALL OVER THE NET AND SEE IF YOU ANSWER ONE .... INSTEAD OF KISSING STRANGERS BUTTS START TREATING YOUR CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE BUILT YOUR BUSINESS FOR YOU RIGHT

Let us see if it gets posted .... truth for truth or will he edited it ???

Well their you have the post that was posted three times and removed all three times.

Hope this helps to make up other people's minds from making the mistake many of us did before.

Many Web Developers bring business to you and now you steal their biz by selling Logo’s, website design, while undercutting their prices, what gives ??? I would rather be with a company that doesn’t know shit about what they are doing than a company that steals from me after I bring so much business their way???
Do you truly have the balls to leave this here or are you truly just all that …. all talk !!! And take take take – like when the are you going to get a 1 800 number for your customers instead of always highway robbing them by creating problems that take days to fix???

Text Book Techie is an understatement in your company, and if you don’t start fixing the real issues soon, you will lose many customers, no matter how cheap a product is, even WalMart learnt that lesson.

MODERATION PENDING …. LOL … GUESS I WILL POST THIS IN WEB DEVELOPER FORUMS ALL OVER THE NET AND SEE IF YOU ANSWER ONE …. INSTEAD OF KISSING STRANGERS BUTTS START TREATING YOUR CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE BUILT YOUR BUSINESS FOR YOU RIGHT

Let us see if it gets posted …. truth for truth or will he edited it ???

Well their you have the post that was posted three times and removed all three times.

Hope this helps to make up other people’s minds from making the mistake many of us did before.

I host 3 websites using WordPress installs on GoDaddy, and I haven't had one problem in the 6 months that I've been with them. I was actually using a more expensive host before, and their customer service really went downhill. I figured, what the heck, I might as well get lousy service elsewhere and pay a lot less for it. What I've found is that I've actually had better uptime and quicker response times any time I've had to call about a problem.
